Propane Adapter Tee

I generally don’t like to carry an extra propane tank, it saves weight and there is less risk. On our previous Outback and Raptor I had propane Ts that I could use for a BBQ, lantern or other propane items. Adding one to the Winnebago was pretty easy. I picked a Mr. Heater Propane Adapter Tee. This adapter allows you to add one outgoing hose. I didn't see the need to add an Extend-A-Stay which also allows you a way to add an additional tank for use by the motorhome. Since we don’t stay in one spot that long it really wouldn’t be necessary so I saved the money as they are not cheap.

The installation is pretty simple. First is to make sure all flame sources; Fridge, Engine, etc. are out. Turn the valve to off, if its not already. Remove the plastic cover over the regulator. Loosen the regulator retaining screw. Mount add the new adapter and T. In my case I used a 1/4” male pipe to 1/4” fitting along with some gas line thread seal tape. Wrench everything tight without over tightening. Then use a mixture of water and dish soap with the LP valve in the on postion to check for links. Once you’ve checked for leaks, install the plastic cover and you are ready to go.

I did find the parts at ACE Hardware, as well as a local Ranch & Home store.
