ATV Trailer Rebuild
I had originally purchased an 16’ ATV trailer for our quads, but as the kids grew it no longer fit our needs. I first made a change by removing the rear ramp and welding it so one ATV would ride above the wheels. However loading and unloading was a major chore. Then I came across a member on RV.net that gave me a better idea. Rather than buy a new trailer I added a deck above the wheels on the trailer, the three rows of wood allowed me to load the ATVs from the rear and would accommodate future growth as the kids ATVs grew. It also gave me some great storage space below the ATVs, allowing me to carry up to 8 RoughNeck Totes, 2 10x10 awnings or wood. I also welded some cross members to hold up to 8 gas cans allowing me to carry 40 gallons of fuel securely to prevent movement or theft. Finally, I added a mount to hold the aluminum folding ramps. So far the setup and worked great, and the additional storage space has been a huge benefit.
